This just completed textile artwork named ‘Touch’ explores human connections and emotions. The layered portrait, captured in black stitching, depicts a woman looking directly into the eyes of the viewer, creating an immediate connection. The use of stitching as a medium also symbolizes the emotional, spiritual, and generational lines we share. By adding openings and holes in the layers, the complexity of the human experience is further highlighted, with not all aspects being immediately visible. These gaps do not always reveal directly what is happening within us, allowing for interpretation and introspection. ‘Touch’ invites introspection and reflection, reminding us of our shared humanity and interconnectedness.
